So charged with resin as to make a good torch. Remarkable for producing shoots from stumps. Wood, soft, brittle, coarse-grained, and light. A cubic foot weighs 32 lbs. " It is the only pine that can send forth shoots after iniury by fire." (Keeler). The pine of the "pine-barrens" of Long Island and New Jersey.
