The leader or instructor is an active, successful physi- cian, the physical director, or some other similarly trained per- son. . Ten or fifteen sessions of the group or class have been held — one per week for ten or fifteen weeks, or two per week for six or eight weeks, or if in camp or summer school, one session per day for ten or fifteen days. . The course involves talks, demonstrations, and quizzes by the leader, and much of both written and practice work by students. Each session should involve some practice in bandaging; reduc- ing fractures, dislocations; dressing burns, wounds; severed arteries ; treatment for drowning, epilepsy, etc. . Any textbook may be used. The new textbook prepared by the American National Red Cross, with particular reference to the above course, is recommended. Price 30c. While de- sirable for each student to have a text, yet one book is often used among several students. .
