CONSTITUTION

of

THE WOODCRAFT LEAGUE OF AMERICA, INC.,
ARTICLE I – Name.

The name of this Association shall be THE WOODCRAFT LEAGUE OF AMERICA, Inc. There shall be placed on all stationary and printed matter issued by the League, under the name of Woodcraft League of America, these words “Founded in 1902 by Ernest Thompson Seton”.

ARTICLE II – Objects.

The objects for which this Association is formed are asfollows: To use the interests and activities of outdoor life for the development of manhood and womanhood in its highest sense, or, more fully expressed, to create an interest in and a genuine affection for the things of nature and outdoor Life; to instruct in Woodcraft, Primative Lore and Natural History; to preserve wild bird and animal life and protect objects and places of scenic and historic value; to promote cultivation of the soil, horticul ture, intensive farming and gardening; to cultivate an interest in the study of history and traditions of mankind; to encourage physical training and the culture and care of the body; to build character; to develop good citizenship; to aid in research affecting the development, improvement, and welfare Of the human race, end generally to do all things which are necessary or proper in connection with the said objects or in any way incidental there to, and which may not be contrary to law.

ARTICLE III – Membership

Membership shall consist of the following classes: Active, Sustaining, Life, Patron and Founder; also Head Guides and members of such Woodcraft Tribes as may be formed and approved by the National Council of Guidance. The qualifications of members are particularly stated in the By-Laws.

At all annual and Special Meetings of the League, each Active, Sustaining, Life, Patron and Founder Member in good standing, and each Head Guide representing a Woodcraft Tribe shall be entitled to one vote.

ARTICLE IV – National Council of Guidance.

There shall be a National Council of Guidance or Board of Directors which shall adopt suitable by-laws and act for members of the League in carrying on the Woodcraft League work. It shall determine the policies to be carried out and take effective steps to see that they are carried out. It shall be responsible for providing and directing an effective Headquarters and field staff and for raising the budget of the League.

The National Council of Guidance shall consist of twenty members divided into five classes of four members each. Thrie terms of office shall be so arranged that the terms of one class shell expire each year at the time of the Annual meeting at ..text pokračuje
