Alexander Pierson Leverty - Onjima (⁕ 18. ledna 1897, Jersey City, Hudson, New Jersey – † 12. května 1977, Richmond, Henrico, Virginia, United States) pocházel z lékařské rodiny.[1] Měl o dva roky mladšího bratra Williama[2]. Roku 1910, kdy zemřel jejich otec[3] jim bylo 13 a 6 let. Bydleli na 606 Washington Avenue v Bridgeportu, s matkou[4] a babičkou[5], v domě který jejich otec krátce před smrtí zdědil.[6]

Roku 1913, jako první z chlapců kmene Black Snake (Bridgeport), získal titul sagamor[7]. Do té doby měl tenhle titul pouze Lewis F. Hall, dospělý mentor kmene.

Harvey C. Went, vůdce kmene, který získal stejný titul xx, zorganizoval v lednu 1916 výlet skupiny žáků a žákyň z Bridgeportu do New Yorku.[8] Byl mezi nimi i 12 letý William.

V říjnu 1918 narukoval Alexandr k americkým mariňákům.[9]

Alexandr se oženil s Ernou Goppert[10] 6.7.1920 v Madisonu, ve státě New York[11], ale jejich manželství zůstalo bezdětné.

William v té době studoval v Pensylvánii na Franklin-Marshallově akademii v Lancasteru[12]

Také on se oženil a se svou ženou ... měl dva syny[13].

Alexandr pracoval pro YMCA[14]

  6. ↑ Majetek byl dědictvím po paní Lucy J. Murphyové, která vlastnila značný majetek na North Washington Avenue. Ta zemřela 25. února 1895 a podle závěti přešel na jejího muže a dceru, s tím, že se má po jejich smrti rozdělit mezi nejbližší příbuzené. Nakonec bylo příbuzných tolik, že to musel vyřešit soud. – Informaci o dědictví přinesl list The Bridgeport Evening Farmer 12. února 1910 na titulní straně v článku pod titulkem NEXT OF KIN NUMBER 28 AND PUZZLE WILDE.

Went, supervistor of gymnasties.   9. ↑ Mrs. R. G. Leverty of Washington avenue spent a few days in New York last week with her son, Alexander Leverty. Young Mr. Leverty is very well known here, as he had attained considerable repute as an athlete in High school. He enlisted in the navy last October and is now stationed at Paris Island, North, Carolina. Recently he was awarded a silver medal for expert markmanship with the rifle.   11. ↑ ALEX LEVERTY TAKES BRIDE: A wedding which comes as a complete surprise to Bridgeporters is that of Miss Erna Goppert, daughter of Mrs. Robert King of Hamilton, New York, and Alexander Leverty, son of the late Dr. and Mrs. R. Gordon Leverty of 606 Washington avenue. Mr. Leverty is a graduate of the local high school, and was at one time an instructor in gymnastics at He enlisted in the Y. M. C. A. here. He enlisted in the navy and has won several swimming trophies and other prizes in athletic contests.   14. ↑ ALEX, LEVERTY IS BACK AT Y. M. C. A.: Alexander P. Leverty has again renewed his working connection with the Young Men's Christian Association, after an absence of about four months. He will have charge of the boys' physical activities which he so ably handled last year. Since his leaving the work last May, Mr. Leverty has been conducting a camp at Old Forge, New York. The new Craig golf meter, so widely talked of among golf enthusiasts, has been installed at the Y. M. C. A. The meter will no doubt be in great demand owing to the general practicability of it. It serves as an purpose for practice, and its use cannot be compared with anything for helping to keep a player in condition during the winter months. This instrument registers the number of yards the ball travels and also indicates whether you have sliced or topped the ball. All ocean steamers are equipped with them and their use has become very popular and successful.
